The Nigerian Navy yesterday explained that it was diffcult to access the area at land and water that the only option they have was only to bomb the area.
In a joint Military operation code named “AWATSE” a Hausa word for ‘to scatter’ the first aerial bombardment was launched Thursday evening on Iroko creeks in Arepo.
From the information we had the militant tried to rebel but was over powered by the bombdardment.
The report also had it that they have two wapon at the sides of the river but they said to have abadon it because of the shoots.
Though according the report we have gathered lives were lost during the operation but the Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Command of the Nigerian Navy, Rear Admiral Ferguson Bobai stated while briefing journalists yesterday, that it was too early to ascertain the number of casualty, as nobody had been able to access the terrain either by land or by water.
